CODE: HOH305                        APPLIED QUANTUM CHEMISTRY

The content of this course is organized into five Parts (from Part 1 to Part 5) with nine Chapters.

Part 1, “Quantum Theory and Chemistry”, provides information on basic background in application of quantum theory in chemistry.

Part 2, “Orbital Interaction” introduces the interaction of orbitals and principles for building complex orbital systems, so can survey the molecular structure, chemical reactivity and reactions in the Parts 3, 4, 5.

Part 3, “Study of Structure” and Part 4, “Study of Chemical Reactivity” describe applications of quantum theory to various chemical systems in order to show how familiar concepts such as unusual geometries, abnormal conformations, nucleo-electrophilicity, thermodynamic stability and chemical reactivity ... may be understood.

Part 5, "Study of Chemical Reactions" presents applications of the quantum theory in studying chemical reactions (involving simultaneously molecular structure and chemical reactivity).
